Depression Collection Areas
The depression areas utilization was two-fold. The dirt removed from the depressions was utilized to build up the berm. The resulting depressions collect rainfall and provide water for the wildlife. The unusually dry season this year has resulted in empty, dry and cracked dirt instead of real shallow watering holes. Rain finally came right after the first of November -- we are still 10 inches below the yearly average.
