Warm Season Grass Areas -- coming soon
Warm season grasses were planted on approximately 15 acres during May/June of 2002. As everyone knows here locally in Southern Maryland we are in a drought. Surprise, surprise the only thing I've done is mow down weeds and have not seen any sprouting of the grasses this year at all. It is amazing at just how well the weeds have done. I've mowed the areas three times now and will probably have to do it once more before the end of the growing season. The usual routine is to cut the weeds down when they are at least 12 inches tall and cut them down to 6 inches until the grasses have established themselves. This was not the year to start growing grass in Southern Maryland!
